Colours Day

COLORS OF LIFE

The rainbow signifies the glory, majesty and honor of the Lord Jesus Christ
"One sat on the throne. And He who sat there was like a jasper and a sardius stone in appearance; and there was a rainbow around the throne, in appearance like an emerald."  (Rev 4:2-3)

We can’t imagine a world without colors. GOD created this world as a colorful painting for mankind.

There are many different colors in this world but we will only see few colors like WHITE, RED, AMBER, GOLD, SILVER, GREY, PUPPLE, ROSE, GREEN AND BLUE.

WHITE
by Sis. Sangeetha

It represents Purity, Holiness, cleanliness etc.,

The color white in scripture is translated from the Hebrew words 'laben' the Greek words are 'leukos'

The bible talk about WHITE in many places… like MANNA is white in color "And the house of Israel called its name Manna. And it was like white coriander seed, and the taste of it was like wafers made with honey." Exodus 16:31 and we see in Psalm 51:7 "Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow."
"And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints." Rev 19:8
"And I said to him, "Sir, you know." So he said to me, "These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb." Rev 7:14

GOLD
By Sis. Shiby John

The color Gold in scripture is translated from the Hebrew word 'zahab' meaning gold as a precious metal or of brilliance and splendor.
The items in the Most Holy Place within the Tabernacle and Temple were covered with gold, for example the Ark of the Covenant, the mercy seat and Cherubim:

One of the characteristics of the heavenly city is the abundance of gold.  It served the purposes of God in the tabernacle and temple, for much gold was in evidence there. Rev 21:12, 21 And the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass, this is one of the scriptures which I like in the bible, not because the pavements are made of gold but to imagine how glorious heaven would be. I believe in the New Jerusalem, gold will be so plentiful that it may be used for cobblestones and building blocks.

Jesus promises us a place in the Father house. John14:2, “In my Fathers house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you”. How wonderful would that house be which our Lord and saviour Jesus is preparing for us as the bible says in 1 Corinthians- 2:9 However, as it is written:” No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him" And there is a joy that fills our heart when you read John 14:3 “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also maybe in the place where I am”
This scripture clearly indicates that we are going to see something supernatural which we could never imagine of or think of. A place where the streets are of finest Gold and we will be walking on such streets with God. Wow!

PURPLE
By Sis. Praveena

This color was used to describe hangings and fine materials, kingship and royalty.
The dye was extracted from a particularly scarce family of shellfish which made it quite valuable. Purple became a symbol of royalty and riches due to the scarcity of its dye. The Hebrew equivalent is 'argaman; Greek porphura. The latter word refers to the source of the dye, namely, a shell-fish found on the shores of the Mediterranean.
A total of 250,000 mollusks were required to make one ounce of the dye, which partly accounts for its great price. It was highly valued within the nation of Israel.

It is Used in several features of the tabernacle (Exodus 26:1, 27:16) and the temple (II Chronicles 2:14); the color of royal robes (Judges 8:26); the garments of the wealthy (Proverbs 31:22; Luke 16:19); and the robe placed on Jesus (Mark 15:17, 20).

SILVER
By Sis. Dhanuja

Money, purification

Math 17:24-27 Here Jesus is providing the tax in different forms. When we read the verse, here Jesus asked the disciples to go to a lake and throw out of line so that he will get a fish and will find a silver coin in the belly of the fish which he would use to pay as tax for Jesus and himself.

Haggai 2:8 God is saying that silver and gold is mine ie silver belongs to God and Malachi 3:3 God says He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver He will purify the Levites and refine them like gold and silver. Here we read that God is like a refiner and we are like silver. As the refiner refines the silver, God also will refine us he washes away all our sin and make us pure.

BLUE and Green
By Sis. Helen

Blue represents the commandments of God and closeness to the presence of God.
The Hebrew word 'tekeleth' is translated blue. It signifies a spectrum of blue from sky blue (Josephus) to a deep dark blue, but can also indicate violet.
Firstly. Blue tells us the importance of remembering God’s commandment and also the heavenly calling of those who had been chosen by God to be His people (Numbers 15:38-40).
Secondly, the Ark of the Covenant in the Tabernacle was covered with blue cloth representing its close association with the Word of God (Numbers 4:5-7; 11-13).
Finally, we also see the robe of the High Priest was also blue, again symbolizing the close association with God and His Word (Exodus 28:31-33).
The color blue is frequently associated with the tabernacle and temple furnishings. For example:” Moreover you shall make the tabernacle with ten curtains of fine woven linen and blue, purple, and scarlet thread; with artistic designs of cherubim you shall weave them." Exod 26:1

GREEN
The Hebrew word 'yereq' meaning green The Greek word 'chloros' means green Psalm 23:2-3 we see a link in the Bible between green pasture and the spiritually restorative nature of God's word
"Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, and whose hope is the LORD. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, Which spreads out its roots by the river, And will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year of drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit."Jer17:17, 8 and Psalm 1:3 is similar to the above verse.
But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God; I trust in the mercy of God forever and ever." Psalm 52:8
These scriptures gives us different meanings for the color green, Rest - Psalm 23:2; Life - Isaiah 15:6, Psalm 23:2, Ezekiel 17:24, Luke 23:31; Growth - Ezekiel 17:24; Fruitful - Jeremiah 11:16; 17:8, Hosea 14:8, Luke 23:31

ROSE
By Sis. Renuka

"I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys." (Solomon 2:1)
Here are some facts about this verse and how it may be related to Jesus.
Nowhere in the New Testament is Jesus actually referred to as the rose of Sharon. However, He is "symbolically" referred to as the rose of Sharon.
Sharon is a plain - it is one of the largest valley-plains in all of Palestine, it was considered a wild, fertile plain that had a lot of beautiful flowers in it. Sharon was supposed to have been known for its beauty and majesty back in those days.
The person saying she is the "rose of Sharon" in the above verse was a Shulamite woman who apparently was Solomon’s bride.
Normally in a husband-wife or boyfriend-girlfriend relationship, it is the male who gives roses to the wife or girlfriend. Since Jesus is considered the Bridegroom in His relationship with His church, it would thus be Jesus coming to us to give us the flowers. However, in this case, God may be going one step further in allowing this analogy to be made of His Son.
I feel like God may be trying to tell us that Jesus will go one step further. Instead of Jesus being the one who would "give" us the flowers as we have in our normal human relationships, Jesus is actually referred to as the flower itself! And with the rose being the most perfect of all flowers, God is telling us that His Son Jesus is the Rose of Sharon rather than just having   Him be the One to just give us this rose flower due to His perfect nature and perfect love that He has for all of us.

RED
By Sis. Aruna Ruby

Without this color there is no gospel at all. We see so many different meanings for the color blood in the bible. The color red represents the blood of Jesus.

The color red or scarlet in the Old Testament frequently symbolizes blood, whether the blood of sacrifice (Leviticus 14:4, 6, 49-52; Hebrews 9:19) or the blood of violence (II Kings 3:22-23; Isaiah 63:2-3; Nahum 2:3; etc.).
Whenever I think of the color RED, I think of the blood of Jesus. Red means blood for me. And the bible is full of blood, it only talks about blood and without the blood there is no gospel at all. When we say Red, we think about The blood- life  Genesis 9:4-5, Deut 12:23, sacrifice(Exodus12:13; 23:18), remission of sin (Hebrews 9:22, I John 1:7, Revelation 1:5), covenant (Exodus 24:8, Matthew 26:28, Romans 5:9, Hebrews 9:12; 13:12), war (I Kings 2:5, I Chronicles 22:8)
Red --- the Blood of Jesus; Love; Fountain of Forgiveness; Healing; Fire; Deliverance; Passover, Protection Ex. 12:23.(color of Man). War, Bloodshed, and Death (Also War in the Heavenlies)from: 2 Kings 3:21-23, Revelation 6:4, 12:3-8, Nahum 2:3.

(Deep)crimson or Scarlet --- Blood Atonement, Sacrifice of Christ's Blood from Sin and Death From: Leviticus 14:52, Isaiah 1:18, Hebrews 9:14, Numbers 19:6, Matt 27:28 Color of the Holy Spirit From: Acts 1:3-4; Consuming Fire. Joshua 2:18-21.

All Colors --- Jubilee - Lev 25:9-10

Silver color meanings in the Bible refers to truth (Psalms 12:6), old age (Genesis 42:38), the beauty of age (Proverbs 20:29),
